Mission

Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life!  It is our goal to educate the mind with true understanding of the faith, to fill the heart with God’s peace, love, and compassion, and to prompt young Catholics into fruitful action.  In this way, they may learn to imitate Christ’s Way, know and believe in the Lord’s objective Truth, and share in the fullness of a Life as intended by our Heavenly Father.

We are honored to assist parents in exercising their role as “primary teachers of their children in the way of faith” ( John Paul II).  We will provide catechistic education of authentic Catholic doctrine on matters of faith and morals and help students cultivate a personal relationship with God through prayers, sacraments, and reflection.  We will encourage adherence to God’s commandments of love and promote awareness and opportunities for serving God through the community and daily good acts.

Our programs uses the Faith & Word series for grades 1-5 and the Faith in Life series which build and rebuilds faith formation.

RCIA: Contact the Rectory.

Religious Education Classes:  K-8th Sundays 8:00 & 10:00 a.m. & 12 Noon

Our religious education program currently educates over 600 students.  We have a top-notch, dedicated staff of volunteer teachers who serve our children each Sunday.   Most teachers are certified by the Diocese or are in the processes of doing so.  We provide continuing education materials for all our teachers.

St. Christophers has limited space for special needs students who are taught by a certified special education teacher. Please contact the Director of Religious Education to determine if your child would benefit from this class.

Students who have missed receiving a sacrament or who have missed a year or several of religious education may need to attend our RCIA/Catch-up class. This provides one-on-one education taylored to a student's specific needs. Contact the Director of Religious Education to discuss.

Sacramental Preparation

Baptism, Reconcilliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage all require special preparation.

For Baptismal preparation, parents should contact the rectory before the baby is born to arrange for class.

Reconcilliation and First Communion preparation are integrated into the second grade curriculum. Please check pre-requisites. An additional time commitment is necessary during the preparation year for retreats, meetings and special events. Keeps this mind when planning your child's extra-curricular activities that year.

Confirmation binds us more closely to our faith, strengthening the gifts of the Holy Spirit and making us full member of our Church. Please check pre-requisites before registering. Our parish prepares students after they complete 8th grade religious education. There is a separate registraton for this preparation in Dec/Jan. Students must make a dedicated time committment for this 12 week program.
