Religious Education classes have ended for the summer. We encourage you and you’re your family to continue working with your children on learning their prayers, attending Mass together each week, praying as a family. These are all irreplaceable examples to set for your children as they grow and learn about our Catholic faith. Your example as parents is part of your responsibility as the first teachers of your children.
Father, Creator of all, thank You for summer! Thank you for the warmth of the sun and the increased daylight. Thank You for the beauty I see all around me and for the opportunity to be outside and enjoy Your creation. Thank You for the increased time I have to be with my friends and family, and for the more casual pace of the summer season. Draw me closer to You this summer. Teach me how I can pray no matter where I am or what I am doing. Warm my soul with the awareness of Your presence and light my path with Your Word and Counsel. As I enjoy Your creation, create in me a pure heart and a hunger and a thirst for You. Amen.
ADORATION-Come join us! Eucharistic Adoration is held each Wednesday in the Chapel throughout the summer from 6:30PM-7:30PM beginning Wednesday, May 31st.
We offer a special Children's Liturgy at the 9:00AM Mass each Sunday, all year long. So bring your little ones (ages 3-8) to hear the readings and Gospel in simplified language and participate in discussions, songs and activities focused on the Scriptures of the day, led by trained parent volunteers. Children are dismissed to the chapel after the opening prayer and then return to their parents after the Prayers of the Faithful. We would love for you to come and check out this wonderful ministry offered to your family!

Why have prerequisites?
St. Christopher's Church is committed to ensuring that every child receives a comprehensive religious education and is fully prepared to received the Sacraments of the Church. Religious Education, just like secular education, is a building processes designed to prepare children for life. If a child has missed a year or two religious instruction then they need to be brought up to speed before moving forward. We off individualized education in a classroom setting to help students catch-up. It is unfair to a child to put them in a classroom where they will be lost and bored and/or leave them unprepared for the challenges of Christian life.
Reconciliation and First Communion:
Students must complete 1st grade religious education and be able to pray the Lord's Prayer, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Sign of the Cross and Meal time prayer before entering preparation for their Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Students may enter the Confirmation Program starting in 8th grade. They must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and First Communion. Students must complete 6th, 7th and 8th grade religious education before entering our preparation program. Student who have not completed these classes as St. Christopher's Church should provide record of attending these classes and take a Student Survey to demonstrate proficient knowledge of their faith.
Because a firm understanding of the Catholic faith is essential to making the Confirmation commitment, we highly recommend 7 years of religious education. Students should know basic prayers, the 7 sacraments, the 10 commandments, the precepts of the church, and should attend mass regularly. If several years of religious education have been missed, students are required to take a survey to determine if knowledge of their faith is sufficient to begin Confirmation Preparation. The RCIA/Catch-up class may be appropriate before beginning preparation.

Religious Education Mission
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life! It is our goal to educate the mind with true understanding of the faith, to fill the heart with God’s peace, love, and compassion, and to prompt young Catholics into fruitful action. In this way, they may learn to imitate Christ’s Way, know and believe in the Lord’s objective Truth, and share in the fullness of a Life as intended by our Heavenly Father.
We will provide catechistic education of authentic Catholic doctrine on matters of faith and morals and help students cultivate a personal relationship with God through prayers, sacraments, and reflection. We will encourage adherence to God’s commandments of love and promote awareness and opportunities for serving God through the community and daily good acts.
Our programs uses the Alive in Christ series for grades 1-5 and the Faith in Life series for grades 6-8.
