Denise Miante
Denise Miante has been a member of St. Christopher's parish for over 25 years. She currently serves as the parish Outreach coordinator through which she was appointed to the Social Concerns Committee of the Parish Council. Additionally, Denise is a catechist for the 3rd grade. She has volunteered for several years in the parish Vacation Bible School, directing last year's events. Denise is married to Jerry and has two daughters Tara Lynne and Katie Rose. She is a native of Natick, Massachusetts. She feels blessed and privileged to work with both young and adult members of the parish and looks forward to the personal growth these opportunities afford.
James M. Gick
Jim Gick has been a parish member for 30 years. During this time, he has been a Lector and Eucharistic Minister for 21 years, served as chairperson of parish SONRISE committee, served 4 years as an annulment advocate for the Diocese of Wilmington and is currently in his second 3 year term on Bishop Saltarelli's Pastoral Council for the southern Deanery. Jim is married to Sue and has adult children and grandchildren. He is retired from the Department of Defense where he served for 36 years. He is also a former board member and treasurer of the Eastern Shore Activity Club.
Mary Mann
Mary has been Director of Religious Education at St. Christopher's parish for over 4 years. She is currently serving in that position, serves on the Liturgical Committee and act as a substitute Lector. Mary was in real estate with her husband Bill before working as a Religious Education teacher at SS. Peter in Paul in Easton. Mary is a widowed with five adult children and many grandchildren.
Kate Tumltry
Kate has been a member of St. Christopher's parish for 32 years. She is currently serving the parish as Secretary for the Parish Council. She is a volunteer for the Queen Anne's County Adult Day Care Foundation and the NASA Federal Credit Union. Her past service to the parish includes 6 years of service as the Director of the CCD program , 6 years as a CCD teacher and 10 years as a Bingo volunteer. Kate was the facilitator for a cancer support group," Carry On" a Hospice Volunteer and Band Booster volunteer. Kate is married with three grown children and two grandchildren. She is retired from being the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services at Queen Anne's County Health Department.
Larry Houck
Larry has been a member of our community since 1980 and has been very active in that time. He has previously served on the Parish Council, is on the finance committee, the liturgy committee, is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is the coordinator of ushers. Larry has also been very active in the local community in the past. He has coached and refereed basketball as well as being active in sports programs throughout Queen Anne’s County.
Kathy
Pessagno
Kathy has been a member of our community since 1989. Her parish activities include being chair of the building and maintenance committee, assists with the building cleanliness, member of the family life committee and is a volunteer teacher in the Religious Education Program. She is currently employed by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Washington, D.C., and is an avid Redskins fan.
Jim Shafer
Jim has been a member of our community since 1978. He currently is a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Christian formation committee. He has been a volunteer teacher in the Religious Education Program, active for 20 of the last 23 years, with advanced certification from the diocese of Wilmington, De. He is currently employed as an estimator with a floor covering company based in Manassas, Va.
Linda Haney
Linda has been a member of our community since 1999. She is currently a Lector, and a volunteer teacher with the Religious Education Program. In addition to her volunteer activities at St. Christopher’s, Linda has coached youth soccer and basketball for many years in queen Anne’s county. She is married with one son and been a resident of Kent Island for 14 years. Linda was raised in Annapolis and currently has her own cleaning and window business.
Joe Zimmerman
Joe has been a member of our community since 1981. He currently is a member of the parish finance committee and the Knights of Columbus. Joe, an active C.P.A., holds memberships in 5 professional accounting and finance societies, and is currently Director of Finance and Treasurer of Maryland Environmental Service, in Millersville, Md.
