How We Serve
In keeping with the Knights of Columbus’ principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism, the members of Fr. Joseph G. McManus Council #7941, located here at St. Christopher’s, perform works year-round for the parish, the community, and our country.
Knights host bull and oyster roasts, crab and shrimp feasts, spaghetti dinners, Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers, virtual horse racing, and other events to raise funds for efforts such as renovating the preschool playground, repainting the church hall’s bathrooms, or purchasing appliances for the kitchen. The Knights hold soccer- basketball, and archery competitions, as well as the “My Favorite Saint” and “Keep ‘Christ’ in ‘Christmas’” poster contests, for our church’s young people, and support other parish activities, such as dances, fall festivals, and Easter Eggstravaganzas.
The Knights prepare and distribute Christmas baskets to needy families, collect and donate money to local organizations that serve those with mental disabilities, and contribute to neighborhood schools and youth groups like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. The Knights provide for seminarians and other religious vocations; donate funds for cancer research, hospice efforts, and providing wheelchairs and medical services; and unswervingly support our nation’s veterans and the unborn.
Fr. Joseph G. McManus Council, named after a former pastor of St. Christopher’s, remains ever-ready and
ever-willing to serve any way it can.

Family Life's Mission is to support the formation of the individual and to support and foster healthy, happy family life as God meant it to be. Our primary goals are:
To develop a consciousness (both a family and a social consciousness) based on Christian
principles and examples.
To develop responsible, concerned and happy families that are part of a supportive and affirming network of families within every community who will individually and collectively reach out to others in need.
To offer opportunities for families to grow in their personal relationships with one another as well as with their friends, neighbors and co-workers.
To develop a caring society that not only recognizes, but actively supports family life.
To establish a local grassroots effort to encourage "simplify" life in a way God intended us to live.

Discovering Our Dignity: Advanced Course, a 22-week Bible study, gives us modern-day advice from women of the Bible. Ancient wisdom, sage advice, sorrowful failures and woundedness. In Discovering our Dignity, we learn that women of the Old and New Testament were sometimes as flawed and broken as we can be. Yet, the power of God worked in their lives. Through their stories recorded in Scripture, they reach out to touch our “present” in a tender, honest and loving way –woman to woman. Read More
